What?

This site has existing in one manifestation or another since 1997, before most people knew what the Internet even was. It has served me many purposes over the years in both personal and professional contexts. Hopefully it will serve you in some small yet meaningful way as well.

Who*?

My name is Jon O’Brien. I was born at a young age in the mean streets of a posh neighborhood in Chicago, the city that I continue to live in to this day. Technology and design are my livelihood and passion, along with good food, travel to interesting places, the occasional fast car, and good conversation. You’ll see this reflected in the pages of this site.

Why?

Short answer: Hey, why not!

Long answer: Because it does the job I need it to do, and it does so in a manner that is manageable, offers almost unlimited freedom, and is affordable to maintain. I get absolute control over the content, warts and all. It does require a bit of upkeep, but seeing how I do IT for a living, I was already going to do most of this work anyway.
